WHAT ARE VERRUCA'S?
Verrucae are warts that accur on the soles of the feet and also on the hands. They are caused by the Human papilloma virus (HPV). HPV is highly contagious through direct 'person to person' contact. Verrucae's thrive in a moist damp environment. They are unsightly and can become very painful. Several treatment options are available for verrucae, depending on patient suitability and location of the region.
The use of specialised acid treatments that can only be applied by licensed practitioners. These acids are far stronger than purchases made from a pharmacy counter.
Electro-surgery: The verrucae is excised under local anaesthetic using an electric probe.
Cryotherapy: This involves freezing the verrucae tissue at sub-zero temperatures with liquid nitrogen or nitrous oxide.
